Preparation

High gadolinium, iodine and barium levels are known to affect the measurement of many metals. If contrast media containing these substances have been used, samples for selenium measurement must be collected after 96 hours. Note: Samples must be collected in a royal-blue-top tube. If collected in the appropriate tube and stored properly, trace element levels do not change over time.
