Add a reminder to your calendar
Choose the day of your blood test and add a reminder to your phone's calendar. If you need to fast, it also reminds you when your fasting starts.
Fasting
- For tests that require fasting (such as blood glucose, cholesterol, insulin and iron), do not eat for 8–12 hours before your blood draw.
- You may drink water while fasting; tea, coffee, juice, chewing gum and smoking break the fast.
- Have a light meal the evening before and avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
- Fasting for more than 12 hours can also affect some results, so do not fast for too long.
When to come
- If possible, come between 08:30 and 10:30 in the morning. Tests such as cortisol, testosterone, prolactin and iron vary during the day.
- Avoid strenuous exercise the day before; muscle enzymes and some liver tests can be affected.
- For cycle-dependent hormone tests (FSH, LH, estradiol), come on the day your doctor specified.
Medicines and supplements
- Do not stop your regular medicines without asking your doctor.
- If you take thyroid medication, take it after your blood draw unless your doctor says otherwise.
- Supplements containing biotin (B7) can affect some hormone tests; if you take them, tell your doctor and us before your blood draw.
What to bring
- Your ID (Turkish ID card, or passport for foreign nationals) — you will use the number to view your results.
- If you are using private health insurance, the test request form from your doctor.
- A list of the medicines you take.
Urine and stool samples
- You can collect urine and stool containers free of charge from our branches.
- For a urinalysis, preferably give a midstream sample of your first morning urine.
- 24-hour urine tests require a special container and instructions; pick up your container from our branch before the test.
- For a stool sample, a hazelnut-to-walnut-sized amount in a clean container is enough; bring it on the same day.
After your blood draw
- Press on the puncture site with cotton for 2–3 minutes and do not bend your arm. This prevents bruising.
- If you came fasting, eat and drink something after your blood draw.
- You can view your results in the "View Results" section with your Turkish ID or passport number.
