What is this test for?
A history of antihypertensive drug use should be obtained. Because these drugs inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), results may be low. Usually ordered for the diagnosis and monitoring of sarcoidosis, silicosis, asbestosis and Gaucher disease.

Preparation
Fasting sample recommended. CSF (ACE inhibitor antihypertensive drugs such as Captopril, Kapril and Lopril must be discontinued 12 hours before sample collection.)
